THE ROLE:
As the Technology/Domain Specialist, you will bridge the gap between technology and business in asset management. Your responsibilities will include:
- Software Development: Utilizing programming languages such as Java, Python, or SQL for building and configuring financial platforms.
- Financial Systems Management: Working with asset management software (e.g., Aladdin, Bloomberg, or Charles River) to streamline portfolio management and risk assessment.
- Data Management: Proficiency in data modeling and database management (SQL) for handling large datasets, analytics, and reporting.
- Cloud and Infrastructure: Deploying scalable financial solutions on cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Cybersecurity: Implementing data security protocols and ensuring compliance with regulations such as GDPR and POPIA.
- Financial Markets Expertise: Applying your understanding of financial instruments (stocks, bonds, derivatives), investment strategies, and asset classes in your role.
- Portfolio and Risk Management: Familiarity with risk assessment techniques and portfolio optimization to enhance investment processes.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Expertise in industry regulations affecting asset management (e.g., Basel III, MiFID II).
- Analytical Skills: Analyzing complex business requirements and translating them into technical solutions that support decision-making.
- Project Management: Knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies and strong stakeholder management skills.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Tertiary education or equivalent experience.
- 7+ years of experience, requiring little to no supervision and the ability to resolve complex issues independently.
- Extensive experience with Mainframe and Server Platforms (Windows and Unix), Hogan, and COBOL.
- In-depth knowledge of SOAP Services, REST APIs, and Zos Connect.
- Proficiency in Java, Azure, DevOps, and cloud computing.
- Exposure to payment systems (e.g., Postilion, PowerCard) and knowledge of card issuing and acquiring.
- Technical/Professional Knowledge:
- Expertise in asset management, IT asset management processes, data warehousing, and IT architecture.
