This is an excellent opportunity for a QUALITY ASSURANCE LEAD to take ownership of the testing environment for managing large and complex product risks at one of South Africa's largest banks.
Based in JOHANNESBURG (Hybrid), this QA Lead position is offering R1.1M - R1.3M per annum plus comprehensive banking benefits.

THE ROLE:
As the Quality Assurance Lead, you will oversee the QA strategy, ensuring testing throughout the product lifecycle meets enterprise standards. Leading a team of Software Quality & Test Engineers, you will focus on improving efficiency, automation, and best practices. This role provides a clear career path and the chance to shape testing solutions that support the bank’s digital future. Responsibilities include managing product risks, implementing scalable test automation strategies, collaborating with stakeholders, facilitating agile ceremonies, overseeing defect management, mentoring the QA team, and adopting advanced tools in a cloud-driven, DevOps-focused environment.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum 6 years of commercial Quality Assurance experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership role managing agile QA teams.
Tertiary education or equivalent experience.
ISTQB Certified.
Extensive hands-on test automation expertise in Java, Selenium, and API testing tools (RestAssured/Karate/SOAPUI).
Agile certification or DevOps training is a plus.
Strong knowledge of BDD, TDD, and continuous integration practices, with experience in Jenkins, Azure Pipelines, Maven, Jira, and Confluence.
Experience in cloud environments, service virtualization, and stubbing.
Proficiency in Java (J2EE, Spring Boot) with a focus on automation frameworks.
