This Cloud Engineer position is based in Cape Town (hybrid), offering a salary of R1M–R1.1M per annum.

THE ROLE:

 

As a Cloud Engineer, you will architect and build cloud solutions using AWS and Azure, leveraging modern software architecture patterns such as Microservices and Event-Driven Design. You will develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines with tools like GitHub, manage infrastructure at scale using IaC tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation, and ensure security best practices are embedded in all cloud solutions. Working closely with DevOps teams, you’ll enable cloud adoption and optimization while contributing to the company’s innovative cloud strategy.

 

KEY QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIRED SKILLS:

 

Degree in Computer Science/IT or equivalent experience.

5+ years’ experience as a Cloud Engineer with a background in software engineering and expertise in Java, Python, and JavaScript.

Expert-level proficiency in AWS and Azure, with Cloud Certification

Strong knowledge of IaC tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible) and container orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes, ECS).

Experience with networking, security fundamentals, Microservices, Event-Driven Design, and hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
