Exciting opportunity for Intermediate Data Engineer to be part of a specialist and young team, led by a dynamic leadership group, to build in-house investment management systems while enhancing your existing Python skills.

Based in the Southern Suburbs of Cape Town, this Data Engineer opportunity offers in the range of R600K to R750K per annum.

Leading financial services group specializing in financial technology solutions, investment management and fund administration. Operating locally and internationally, they cater for clients who seek tailored solutions for wealth management, pension funds, and other financial instruments.

The Role:
As a Data Engineer, your role will be to design and manage database architecture, data flow, and processes for the investment team. Strong Python and SQL skills, along with experience in large-scale data management, version control, and database solutions, are essential. Key responsibilities include handling data reception, transfer, processing, and integration with third-party systems to support investment research and operations. 

Minimum Requirements:
University Degree in Computer Science/ Information Systems/ Maths/ Stats/ Business Science/ Actuarial.
Strong Python Programming skills are a must. 
SQL programming.
2 - 3 Years’ experience with a specific focus in database management & data analysis.
Experience in having produced ETL processes at scale are essential.
Basic understanding of financial instruments and markets.
Linux server administration.
Git version control.
