Based in CAPE TOWN (in-office) this DATA SCIENTIST role offers a salary of R850K – R880K.

THE ROLE:

As the Data Scientist, you will be working within a fast-paced environment, handling large datasets from diverse gaming platforms alongside a team of six experienced data scientists in the central business intelligence department. This role offers the chance to expand your skills in machine learning, AI, advanced statistical modelling, and data visualization using Python.

 

You will take ownership of key data science solutions, applying innovative analytical approaches that drive business metrics. Collaborate with a talented team, engage in creative problem-solving, and make impactful contributions to enhance the gaming experience for players worldwide.

 

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum 2 years of experience as a data scientist, data analyst, or similar role.

Undergraduate degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, or Engineering).

Certification in Probability Theory and Statistical Fundamentals is a plus.

Proficient in Python and relevant frameworks; strong understanding of statistics, statistical modelling, and machine learning.

Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) and SQL (SSMS/Snowflake).

Familiarity with data governance practices and version control (GitLab/GitHub).

Strong numerical and problem-solving skills with a solid grasp of data structures and query optimization.
