This Head of Human Resources role is based in Johannesburg and offers a salary of R2 million per annum.

THE ROLE
As Head of Human Resources, you will report directly to the Managing Director and lead the company’s HR strategy, ensuring that people, culture, and compliance align with overall business objectives. You’ll oversee the full HR lifecycle, covering compliance, workforce planning, recruitment, performance management, employee relations, learning and development, and succession planning.
Labour law and compliance are central to this role, ensuring the business operates within South African legal frameworks. The Head of HR will oversee the correct application of labour legislation across all HR functions, from contracts to disciplinary processes. In a large FMCG environment, compliance is non-negotiable as it protects both the company and its employees.
This is a senior leadership role requiring both strategic direction and operational execution ensuring HR policies are embedded across all levels of the organisation and that the company continues to be a destination employer in the FMCG industry.
THE REQUIREMENTS
BCom in Human Resource Management (or equivalent qualification)
15–20 years of proven HR experience, including 4–5 years in a senior HR Manager or HR Director role within an FMCG or manufacturing environment
Deep knowledge of South African Labour Law and Employment Equity regulations
Proven experience developing and executing HR strategies across complex organisations
Strong ability to manage industrial relations proactively
Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
Demonstrated ability to influence leadership and navigate complex workforce dynamics
Track record of leading HR transformation initiatives that support business growth
