THE COMPANY:
One of South Africa’s largest and most respected financial services groups, operating at an enterprise scale with millions of customers. They are currently undergoing a digital transformation by migrating critical systems to Microsoft Azure, building and managing a highly complex, large-scale cloud infrastructure designed to deliver agility, security, and resilience across diverse financial products and services.
THE ROLE:
As a Junior Cloud Engineer, you will support the deployment, automation, and maintenance of enterprise-scale Microsoft Azure infrastructure in a cloud-first environment, collaborating closely with development and infrastructure teams.
Responsibilities include provisioning and automating Azure services, managing infrastructure with Terraform, supporting CI/CD pipelines, monitoring environments, responding to incidents, contributing to cost optimisation and security compliance, and maintaining documentation.
THE REQUIREMENTS
Tertiary qualification in IT or a related field
Certified Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104)
2 years’ professional IT or cloud experience
Experience with Terraform for infrastructure provisioning
Exposure to GitHub Actions
Understanding of networking (DNS, VPN, firewalls, subnets), virtualisation, and operating systems
