This is a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Full Stack Engineer to own product features across the checkout experience and help scale real-time payments infrastructure for one of Africa’s leading fintech platforms.

This Senior Full Stack Engineer position is fully remote with a CTC of R1,5 to R1,6 million per year.

You will play a key role combining product, engineering, and scale of the platform, helping shape the core checkout flow that powers thousands of online transactions every day.

Their platform supports a wide range of payment methods, including cards, mobile wallets, bank transfers, and regional payment options enabling businesses of all sizes to get paid quickly, securely, and reliably.

In 2023, they secured $31 million in Series A funding from a global fintech growth fund, enabling aggressive expansion and platform development. With recent acquisitions in both Southern and West Africa, they’re building the financial rails to support Africa’s next wave of digital commerce.

THE ROLE

As Senior Full Stack Engineer, you will help build and maintain the customer-facing checkout experience including embedded forms, hosted pages, and payment links. This is the core transactional surface, where performance, usability, and conversion matter most.

You will work across Python, TypeScript, and a serverless AWS architecture, with MongoDB, MySQL, and PostgreSQL supporting different parts of the platform. You’ll collaborate with product and engineering leads to scope features, refine flows, and drive platform performance and reliability. You’ll also take ownership of production issues when they arise, working across infrastructure, monitoring, and code to resolve them quickly.

REQUIREMENTS

7+ Years’ experience as a Full Stack Engineer

Expert Python and TypeScript abilities

Extensive AWS experience (Serverless architecture, Lambda, API Gateway)

Experience with both relational & NoSQL databases such as MySQL & MongoDB

Experience in payments/fintech/transactional platforms will be a strong advantage.
