This is an excellent opportunity for a Manual Tester to gain automation testing experience by thoroughly testing new platform features, pinpointing areas for automation, and contributing to the robustness of the testing strategy at a leading Platform as a Service provider.

Based in Cape Town (Hybrid), this Software Tester position pays R650K-R720K per annum.

THE ROLE:

As a Manual Tester, your main responsibility will be to conduct thorough manual testing of new platform features in a data-rich environment, ensuring functionality, product reliability, and performance. You’ll work closely with the Automation Tester to identify areas suited for automation, create and maintain test scripts, and perform database checks using SQL to support test accuracy and platform reliability. This role is primarily focused on manual testing, with collaborative involvement in building and maintaining automation processes, thereby influencing testing efficiency and quality and contributing to the overall robustness of the testing strategy.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

ISTQB or ISEB Certification

5+ years’ experience in manual testing with some automation background

Familiarity with web and API testing tools like Postman

Proficiency in SQL for database checks

Experience with automation tools such as JavaScript and Playwright

Experience with JIRA and working in an Agile environment

Strong collaboration skills to work effectively with the automation team
