Job Description

This is a 6-month CONTRACT ROLE for a skilled SQL DEVELOPER – to join an innovative INVESTMENT MANAGEMENT COMPANY.        


This SQL DEVELOPER Contract is based in CAPE TOWN and pays around R600/hour (R96K/month).



6 month contract from the outset, and if it’s going well then, a further 6 month to 1 year extension.



This INVESTMENT MANAGEMENT FIRM has dramatically disrupted the investment industry to help people get dramatically better value for their long-term savings. They are a customer-centric tech enabled company scaling up to managing assets in value of R90bn.



This position needs someone who makes things happen, able to identify hypotheses and business questions, implement tests, analyze results, and influence decisions. You must enjoy adopting a data-driven approach to your work.



Interacting frequently with business stakeholders to gather requirements for new development projects and translating these into solutions. This will involve designing, developing, testing and supporting the inhouse SQL based systems, and delivering new developments, recommend and deliver ideas for improving the systems and processes, and support wider innovations across the business.



Bachelor’s degree in relevant Engineering, Computer Science or Mathematics field required.

Minimum 8 years SQL experience.

Experience ideally in Asset Management but we will accept other Financial Services experience.

Some experience using a BI reporting tool (e.g., QlikView, Tableau, Power BI etc.).

High proficiency in working with large data sets and business models.

Experience in commission systems and investment management systems would be ideal (but not essential).

Solutions-oriented, strong analytical and critical thinking.

Have an interest in e-commerce, building a brand and business.
