This MANAGING DIRECTOR role is to be based in CAPE TOWN and offers a salary of around R2.5 Million, plus incentives plus equity.

The company is rapidly growing and looking for a MANAGING DIRECTOR for the Cape Town office which is currently 30 Software Engineers and additional support staff. The growth plans are aggressive and as MANAGING DIRECTOR you will be confident to lead and grow the team, enhance the culture, develop and reinforce policies and practices, and contribute to the global leadership team.
As MD you will run all aspects of the Cape Town office, staffed by Software Engineers – and you will be primarily be responsible for ensuring the team is inspired, motivated, and capable of delivering on the demands of the business.
People Strategy and Culture - maintain and enrich the culture, allowing staff to grow, learn and flourish in a changeable environment.
Personnel Management - capacity planning, coordinate recruitment, hiring, and training of staff in line with the plan.
Project Staffing - ensure that the business can staff teams with engineers of appropriate skills to meet client- and delivery-expectations.
Office Management - work with accountants and lawyers to ensure all financial, regulatory, and compliance matters are attended to.
Business Transformation – transitioning the company from service delivery to hybrid-product-services company. Developing new ways of working, responding to a global pandemic, earthquake, or invasion by aliens, etc.
You can demonstrate a good combination of the following capabilities:-
- Lead a small team of managers ( ~5) and a larger team of engineers (30 to 90)
- Build, grow, and lead a high functioning team that can reliably deliver solutions with quality.
- Manage internal projects and initiatives with an excellent track record of delivering
- Offer mentoring and create growth opportunities for staff
- Plan and negotiate an organisational budget, then manage to that budget.
- Run an office.
- Contribute strategic insights, as a member of a leadership team
- Leadership of managers who have their own reports
- 10 or more projects led to successful completion
