Job Description

This is an excellent opportunity to join a company with a proven track record of launching specialized proprietary software products into the market, and get in at the early stages of the development lifecycle of a new application and take part in the design and architecture. 

Working remotely with ad-hoc visits to their Surrey office, the position is paying between £50 000 and £65 000 per annum and offers a range of additional benefits such as an annual bonus, pension, and 25 days holiday (on top of bank holidays).

THE ROLE:
Reporting to the Head of Technology, you will be joining one of their Senior Ruby Developers to build out a new application to add to their existing product suit. This will entail feature development, the implementation of best practices, contributing to the overall architecture, design and evolution of the product and given that it will be handling very large data sets, product performance optimisation as well.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Experience developing applications using Ruby and RoR at a mid-senior level (3+ years)
  • Proficiency with CSS, JavaScript, and related frameworks (preferably React)
  • Good understanding of design patterns and OOP concepts
  • Knowledge of SQL database design
  • Knowledge of source control with Git
  • Familiarity with JIRA and Agile techniques
  • Any experience or knowledge of Capistrano would be beneficial
